A Message from Mike
As we close out the year, I want to pause and say thank you.
Local association executives play an essential role in serving members and strengthening communities, especially in a time when our industry continues to face real change and complexity. You are the steady presence in your associations, the rocks people rely on and the glue that holds together the many programs, initiatives, and responsibilities that make the REALTOR® organization work. That is what makes this organization so special and so unique.
For those who have recently stepped into service within the REALTOR® organization, I know the learning curve can be steep. This world operates a little differently. But please know the work you do serves a greater purpose. You are not only supporting your members day to day, you are helping build community, advancing the American Dream of property ownership, and ensuring REALTORS® have a seat at the table as policymakers make decisions that can strengthen or threaten that dream.
Too often, your work happens behind the scenes. You are unsung heroes, and I want you to know how deeply appreciated you are.
On a personal note, as I’ve taken on this new role, your importance to me and to the success of Texas REALTORS® has been clear from day one. Looking ahead, 2026 will be a big and impactful year. We’ll be rolling out new forms and practice changes, potentially engaging in a building redesign, undertaking a governance review with your involvement and feedback, developing a new strategic plan, preparing for the next legislative session, strengthening engagement with the brokerage community, and much more. None of that work succeeds without you. You are a critical part of every one of those efforts.
Please know that my door is always open. I want to hear your ideas, your concerns, and your thoughts on where we can be the best partners possible.
Thank you for all you do. I wish you and your families the happiest of holidays, and I look forward to working alongside you in what I know will be a great 2026.
TREC REALM Portal Update
The TREC REALM Portal is now live and below are a couple of updates from Chelsea:
- Brokers should now be able to add sales agents.
- They’re working on the terminations process to change the list from license number to name.
Share this link with members to start setting up their portal accounts or find support and resources should they have any trouble.
TREC and TALCB License Holder Databases
In addition to the recent launch of the REALM Portal, TREC and TALCB also made significant updates to their license holder databases. These databases are available for download and are commonly used by various vendors to power Association Management Systems (AMS).
Our Texas REALTORS® AMS partner has determined that there is key data missing from the new license holder databases, which has a significant impact on the functionality of our new AMS. Any other AMS that depends on this data will likewise be affected.
Texas REALTORS® has been in contact with TREC regarding the missing data and spoke directly with one of the TREC technology developers. TREC as assured us that resolving this issue is a top priority. We will keep you updated with our progress as we work with our AMS partner and the Texas Real Estate Commission.
