New ABR Initiative from NAR
NAR began an initiative this week to offer the ABR Designation Core Course to members at no charge. If you elect to schedule an ABR Designation Core Course in 2024 and you offer the class at no charge to members, all royalty and processing fees will be waived and NAR will reimburse your instructor fees for up to $4,000. Please note that NAR has a finite amount of funds so, it’s possible that classes later in the year will not have funding for reimbursement.
Residents Receiving Postcards
Texas residents have begun receiving a postcard entitled “Notice of Proposed Settlements” regarding real estate commission antitrust lawsuits. Many are asking why they are getting this notice and what does it mean. Please see the FAQ at the bottom of texasrealestate.com/lawsuit for more information on these postcards.
Association Deep Dive Ideas
Each year we offer an education session for experienced local AEs and staff the day prior to AE Seminar in June (at the same time as AE Basic Training) to address key topics in a more in-depth fashion (usually six hours). Last year we addressed all things Governmental Affairs. Please email Jon Houser if you have a topic you recommend we cover during this time.
